About the Role

The Shared and Respite living branch provides accommodation and living options for people with disabilities including: supported community based shared living; overnight, weekend and holiday respite; and independent living options.

The Shared and Respite Living (Disability Accommodation Services) Manager will provide effective leadership, management and strategic direction in the design, development and procurement of creative, integrated and community focussed housing and independent living supports and services.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and drive the delivery of person-centred active support to people with a disability in a range of shared and respite living options across Geelong and South West Victoria
  • Ensure the inclusion of people with a disability, or their representative, in all components of service delivery and facilitate inclusion of families or significant others (where appropriate)
  • Manage multiple funding streams including financial acquittal, budgeting, contract compliance, quality accreditation, reporting framework and targets
  • Manage the provision of service quotations and client contracts particularly for the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, coordination, performance management and professional development of staff
  • Identify potential areas for growth and development and prepare comprehensive and detailed business cases and funding submissions
  • Facilitate partnerships with external community organisations or businesses

Skills and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in management or equivalent and/or human services- preferably with a disability focus

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in not for profit/community service sector
  • Proven ability in management/leadership role and proven track record in leading teams to delivery defined outcomes and positive change
  • Highly developed organisational and problem solving skills with proven ability to work autonomously and proactively
  • Adept in all aspects of stakeholder engagement including clients and families, partners and funding bodies
  • Exemplary analytical, negotiation and time management skills
  • High level oral and written communication skills
