  • Billable hours: A key difference within this role is that you are only claiming 65% of your time (or 23.62hours for a full time employee) with the other 35% left for personal development, administrative tasks and team support.

Our Allied Health team improves the lives of our community by improving the wellbeing and ability to manage everyday tasks of our clients. Our Allied Health team consists of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Dietetics Specialist Behaviour Support and Allied Health Assistance. 

 

We work with NDIS Participants of all ages who present with "behaviours of concern" – signs that all is not well in that person’s life. 

 

Our Allied Health team is looking for a passionate and motivated Behaviour Support Practitioner to work with people with disability and those who support them to find out what is going on for them and why things aren’t going well. You will provide person-centred support to participants of the NDIA, with the aim of improving quality of life and reducing and eliminating the use of restrictive practices.

About You 

 

A flexible approach will see your Behaviour Support Plans bespoke for your client’s needs, with the core functions being: 

 

  • Working with people with disability and their supports in a person-centred way to understand the person’s needs, skills, and circumstances 
  • Developing Interim Behaviour Support Plans to ensure safety for the person and those around them 
  • Completing comprehensive and holistic assessments to determine the underlying drivers of behaviours of concern 
  • Developing Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans based on the findings of your assessment 
  • Supporting the person to learn new skills and achieve the goals they want to achieve 
  • Supporting and training people who support the person in the use of strategies outlined in Behaviour Support Plans 
  • Supporting NDIS Providers to obtain authorisation of plans which contain Regulated Restrictive Practices and then ensuring Behaviour Support Plans are lodged with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission 
  • Monitoring, evaluation and reviewing Behaviour Support Plans to ensure they are effective and meeting the person’s needs 

 

You will also meet the following essential requirements: 

 

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;  
  • Current NDIS Working With Childrens Check or willingness to obtain;  
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate or willingness to obtain;
