genU is looking for passionate, inclusive Disability Support Workers for our Hobart region, to enhance the lives of our clients by providing personal care, community access and person-centred supports. You will foster independent living skills and empower your clients to make choices that lead to fulfilment and achievement of individual goals.

What you’ll do
As a Disability Support Worker in our Disability and Ageing teams, you’ll:
• Assist clients in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including medication, personal & self-care, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene
• Promote development and maintenance of independent living skills
• Receipt and maintenance of written records in accordance with guidelines including- medical records, health and safety concerns, notes on behaviours as per support plan
• Undertake physical household tasks with clients participating where possible
What you’ll bring
- Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar
- Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate
- Current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDIS endorsement
- Satisfactory completion of a police check(s) if required
(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
