The role will operate within genU’s Community Participate division, which was established to facilitate innovative, client-centred programs with a focus on building skills that will assist in achieving our participant's goals! 

 

As a Disability Day Services Practitioner, you will support our clients to undertake a range of daily tasks including personal and self-care, eating and maintenance of personal hygiene. You will be proactive in promoting community inclusion through following up on community-based opportunities for our participants, based on their interests and hobbies. You will also assist our clients to participate as much as possible in community activities.  

  

 

About You

 

We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Disability Day Services Practitioner will: 

  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances. 

  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth 

  • Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required 

  • Have the flexibility to work across several sites within the region 

 

You will need the following: 

  • Certificate III in Community Services (Disability) or equivalent 

  • First Aid Level II 

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain 

  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
