We are looking for Personal Support Workers to join our longstanding, purpose-driven, and values-based organisation to make a real difference in people's lives in Corangamite.

 

  • The role will operate within genU’s Community Home Support Services division, which was established to facilitate innovative, client-centred programs with a focus on building skills that will assist in achieving our participant's goals!
  • Assist clients in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including personal and self-care, food preparation, eating, dressing and maintenance of personal hygiene, domestic duties and other tasks as directed.
  • Assisting in community access through transport, shopping, and social outings.
  • Undertake the support role with respect and acknowledgement of the person’s’ abilities and strengths.
  • Provide clients with opportunities for personal growth and skill development in line with Support Plans and directions from the coordination team.
  • Perform personal support work with professional integrity and ensure privacy and confidentiality of client information.

About You!

We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our Personal Support Worker will:

  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances.
  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
  • Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.

 

You will need the following:

  • Certificate III in Community Services (Disability) or equivalent;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Training- within 12 months;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
