Are you an enthusiastic, proactive people person? genU is looking for a Physical Health and Wellbeing Consultant to join our longstanding, purpose driven and values-based organisation to make a real difference to people’s lives. We welcome all Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists - new graduates, early career and experienced.

In this role you will conduct comprehensive initial assessments, develop individualised exercise programs and address physical barriers to employment for job seekers. You will provide best-practice exercise prescription to ensure optimal person-centred outcomes for a diverse clientele base. Additionally, you will work across various sites within the Macarthur/Liverpool employment region and be required to travel regionally or interstate to deliver tailor health & safety programs, ensuring a seamless service across all client touchpoints.

 

Part of this role will assist job seekers to reach their goals through holistic healthcare, lifestyle modification and vocational guidance, empowering them to have a better quality of life.

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

As a Physical Health and Wellbeing Consultant, you will but not limited to:

 

  • Work with individuals on a one-to-one basis and in groups to support those experiencing physical health and or wellbeing concerns.
  • Conducting a range of assessments including functional capacity evaluation, musculoskeletal and fitness, worksite and ergonomic.
  • Delivering psycho-educational, work conditioning, manual handling, chronic pain management and strengthening group-based program.
  • Produce tailored health action plans for each client focusing on improving their health and moving them closer to work.
  • Recommend workplace modifications in the work environment keeping in mind the client and employer's needs to improve their productivity and prevent/minimise injuries or exacerbation of their symptoms.
  • Provide return to work guidance and offer in-work support which may involve consulting with employers.

 

About You!

 

We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal  Physical Health and Wellbeing Consultant will have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physiotherapy or relevant qualifications in Exercise Physiology.
  • Current AHPRA registration or ESSA registration as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based and best-practice therapeutic approaches.
  • Possess exceptional organisational abilities to facilitate the prioritisation and effective management of key duties.
  • Experience or interested in working with individuals with disability, job seekers and comorbidities.

Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
