About the position

 

The Skilling Queenslanders for Work Trainer will undertake the daily operations of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. The key purpose of the role is to:

 

  • Support local Job Seekers in the Brisbane Metropolitan Region into local jobs and training
  • Support local industry and employers gain local staff
  • Build skill capability of local job seekers through training for local jobs
  • Undertake the daily operations of the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program and identify opportunities for program improvement
  • Running information sessions and assessments for intake
  • Engage RTOs to run information sessions on various upskilling programs to meet local employers and industry needs
  • Engage with local stakeholders and employers to create awareness and promote careers and pathways in growth industries and occupations
  • Utilise local labour market knowledge and job seeker knowledge to develop employment strategies to provide employment opportunities
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the local labour market
  • Ability to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds in an empathetic manner
  • Educate employers, co-workers and local business community in relation to people seeking employment to break down employment barriers and community stigmas.
  • The ability to manage a challenging workload through prioritisation and effective time management.

 

About you

 

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, clients, peers, employers and relevant other internal key stakeholders
  • Experience and proven aptitude for negotiating marketing contracts, cold calling and rapport building with external customers
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with people with disabilities, injury, and health conditions and/or injury case management
  • Previous experience in employment services
  • Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check or are willing to obtain one
