genU is seeking a passionate Allied Health Assistant to provide high-quality support to support individuals and meet the goals set out in their individual Support plans. As the Allied Health Assistant, you will support other members of the Allied Health team by providing face to face therapy, as per the direction of the Allied Health Professionals. You will also provide group supervision in various settings/ programs (Gym, walking groups, Hydrotherapy and other specialised programs)
The Allied Health Professionals will develop a client- specific therapy plan, for which the Allied Health Assistant are involved with implementation, monitoring and tracking. These client plans will be reviewed periodically and amended as required. The Allied Health Assistant will complete regular communication with the team/Allied Health Professionals in order to document current progress and set future goals.
This is a Full-time, Part Time 0.6 OR Part Time 0.4 position (multiple positions available), ongoing opportunity located in Eric Hart Centre and St Laurence Park Lara.
The Allied Health Assistant will be located within Eric Hart Centre and St Laurence Park in Lara, primarily supporting clients who are recipients of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
About You:
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise clinical programs and complete related administration for clients.

Assist Allied Health staff to ensure high standards of care within program guidelines (e.g.My Aged Care, CHSP, NDIS, Home Care Packages, DVA).

Support implementation of preventative health programs to promote client independence.

Write client file notes and progress reports to track progress and set new goals.

Participate in professional development activities identified during supervision.

Keep up-to-date with program implementation through ongoing education.

Maintain accurate records, care plans, and statistics per genU’s policies.

Follow genU’s policies and procedures in practice and behaviour.

Build effective relationships with genU branches, disability, mental health services, and NDIA.

Prepare for sessions as per the therapist's plan, including creating or adapting resources.
To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have:

Previous experience working with older people and /or people with a disability.

Proven ability to be able to work in a team environment,
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with participants, families/carers and other professionals.

Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Sound organisational and administrative ability.
