About the role

We’re looking for passionate individuals to join us as Digital Mentors, supporting people to develop essential digital literacy skills and improve their online confidence and independence.
As a Digital Mentor, you will:
- Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to build participants’ digital literacy
- Support clients to navigate online services including myGov, email, and job search platforms
- Foster inclusive, welcoming environments—both face-to-face and virtual
- Tailor learning approaches to suit diverse participant needs
- Maintain clear records of sessions and progress
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure client needs are met
- Stay current with evolving digital tools, risks, and resources
About You
- Demonstrated skills using digital device and Microsoft apps
- Knowledge of cyber safety, privacy, and online accessibility
- Experience or ability to mentor and build skills in people from diverse backgrounds
- Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to represent genU positively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and deliver support empathetically
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and juggle multiple priorities
- Familiarity with platforms such as myGov or online job boards
- Lived experience overcoming digital or employment barriers
This is a Part Time .4 FTE Ongoing role based in Werribee
