  • We are looking for an Employment Coach to join the team in a part time, ongoing basis based in Highton, VIC
  • Hourly Rate: $30-$34 per hour + 12% Super 
  • Salary Packaging: Not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum, plus further benefits for meals and entertainment up to $2,649 annually.

This opportunity is part of our Employment Pathways team at genU, which focuses on supporting people with disability to grow their skills, increase their independence, and work towards their employment aspirations. Unlike employment services that concentrate on direct job placement, Pathways provides a capacity-building approach, helping individuals prepare, develop, and gain confidence on their journey towards employment.

 

Upon joining the supportive Employment Pathways team, your role would be to provide customised employment assistance to youth participants. Typical duties may include, but not be limited too;

  • Driving a comprehensive discovery process
  • Providing mentoring supports within open employment workplaces (both individually and in small groups)
  • Coordinating job skills development and assessments
  • Managing and supervising employment preparation tasks
  • Overseeing job searching and job creation
  • Facilitating post placement supports once a job has been secured
  • Completing a range of administrative tasks such as file noting, assessments and reporting

 

About You!

Our ideal employee is an effective communicator who is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities within the community. You will be able to demonstrate a strong administrative ability and have sound organisation skills.

Essential:

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Cert IV in disability, community services, employment services or a related field;
  • Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate of completion or willingness to obtain;
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain;
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Ability to transport participants in own vehicle (current license, car and comprehensive insurance required);
     

Desirable:

  • Sound understanding and experience in delivering person centred supports;
  • Experience working in the NDIS environment.
