Hey you!

Are you a technically strong finance professional who loves solving complex problems, translating ideas into action, and helping Finance operate at its best?

genU is looking for a Finance Project Manager to lead transformative finance initiatives that strengthen our systems, streamline processes, and shift the focus from transactional work to meaningful financial insight.

At genU, we’re a profit-for-purpose organisation, reinvesting our success back into programs to create real social impact. From disability and aged care support to community-focused initiatives, we’re here to help people live their best lives.

We're open to flexible hours, part-time, or job share arrangements – because great people thrive in different ways.

What you’ll do

As a Finance Project Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead and deliver meaningful finance projects that strengthen systems, processes and decision-making across genU.
  • Partner with Finance, IT and business teams to turn complex ideas into practical, people-centred solutions.
  • Guide projects from concept to implementation, ensuring they’re delivered on time, within scope and aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Embed strong governance, compliance and risk management to support sustainable and ethical financial practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement and capability building, helping Finance evolve from transactional delivery to strategic insight.

What you’ll bring

  • Strong technical accounting experience, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards, legislation and regulatory requirements with confidence.
  • The ability to translate technical accounting, financial or system complexities into clear, business-friendly language, helping others understand not just what needs to change, but why it matters.
  • A curious, creative and solutions-focused mindset, with a genuine passion for working with diverse stakeholders to design smarter processes and lift capability.
  • The ability to see the bigger picture, understanding how changes impact end-to-end processes, cross-functional dependencies and the broader Finance operating model.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline (or working towards), with CA or CPA qualification (or intention to complete).

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

Bonus points for

  • Previous experience in not-for-profit or community service environments

Why you’ll love working at genU
