Join our team!

As the Manager of Health, Safety & Wellbeing you are responsible for ensuring genU’s health, safety, and wellbeing systems and processes are effectively implemented across the organisation. You’ll provide coaching and guidance to leaders, promote a safety-first culture, and ensure compliance with OHS legal obligations. Working closely with all areas of genU, you’ll drive safety programs that enhance the wellbeing of employees, clients, and volunteers. Key responsibilities

 

As a manager – Health & Wellbeing you will:

 

  • Lead the development and coordination of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing programs focused on risk mitigation and control priorities
  • Drive the implementation of effective risk management and compliance systems integrated into daily operations
  • Provide coaching, training, and education across all levels to ensure clear understanding of HSW roles and responsibilities
  •  Foster strong relationships to ensure smooth communication and information flow across the organisation
  • Manage, coach, and support the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team to enhance team performance
  •  Present concise briefs on complex issues with actionable options to reduce HSW risks

 

 

About you

 

We are looking for dynamic and values-led individuals who have:

 

  • Experience developing and implementing compliant HSW management systems across multiple states and sites
  • Proven leadership experience in managing successful teams
  • Strong communication skills with experience producing reports, procedures, and training materials
  • In-depth knowledge of Work Health Safety, Risk, and Environmental legislation across Australia and relevant standards
  • Extensive expertise in various HSW technical areas
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and best practices in HS.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with the Disability Acts, Aged Care Acts, OHS Act, and service provider contractual obligations
  • NDIS Worker Screening and NDIS Orientation Module certification
  • Industry networks, experience in the disability services sector, and emergency management leadership experience

Requirements

 

To be eligible, you must have, or be willing to complete:

 

  • NDIS Screening Workers Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate of Completion
  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to work, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels
  • A passion for inclusion, wellbeing, and empowering others to thrive
