Are you an experienced and qualified mental health practitioner with a focus on ensuring best practice? genU and our Matchworks division are looking for a talented Health and Wellbeing Consultant to join the team.
In this role, you will provide health & wellbeing support to job seekers from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities. You will utilise your specialist skills to provide a person centred, holistic approach to support clients toward improved management of their mental health in order to facilitate successful engagement with employment. You will also use your counselling intervention skills when supporting clients.
This is a Part Time, 4 days a week (0.8FTE) permanent role covering Brisbane (South), Queensland area.
About You?
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing counselling and mental health support to individuals on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
- Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and using short term evidence-based, best practice interventions to assist clients to better manage their health and wellbeing.
- Creating individualised support plans for clients that focus on return to work and assist clients into lasting employment.
- Referring clients to relevant external health or specialist services as required.
- Delivering relevant health and wellbeing training to operational staff.
- Ensuring service delivery meets the quality standards outlined in our clinical governance framework.
To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have
- Full registration as a health professional with one of the following regulatory bodies as below:
- Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA.
- A counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Associations (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACA)
- Rehabilitation Counsellor registered with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC)
- Accredited Mental Health Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social workers (AASW)
- Proficient in applying evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy, tailored for short-term client interventions.
- Strong understanding of the biopsychosocial model of healthcare and experience facilitating mental health-related group interventions.
- Committed to empowering clients with severe and enduring mental health issues to manage their conditions effectively and enhance their employability.
