We’re looking for a highly skilled and solutions-focused ICT System Engineer to support the design, delivery, and ongoing performance of ICT services across genU. This role plays a key part in ensuring a reliable, secure, and high-performing ICT environment that supports staff and organisational operations.
As a senior technical resource within the genU ICT team, the ICT System Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining the ICT operating environment. A core focus of the role is ensuring system uptime and overall system health, with accountability for creating automated alerting and response processes that enable staff to effectively deliver services and support business outcomes.
With a proactive and technically driven approach, you will work closely with internal business stakeholders and external partners to deliver robust and scalable solutions. You’ll also take ownership of complex technical issues, providing level 3 support and collaborating with the broader ICT team and vendors to resolve incidents and implement improvements across the organisation.
This position suits someone with strong technical expertise, advanced problem-solving ability, and a proactive mindset. You’ll contribute to maintaining a stable and efficient ICT environment while ensuring systems are optimised to support service delivery and organisational growth.
Reporting to the relevant leader, the ICT System Engineer is an important member of the team, helping ensure ICT services are delivered effectively, securely, and in line with genU’s values.
At genU, we’re a profit-for-purpose organisation, reinvesting our success back into programs to create real social impact. From disability and aged care support to community-focused initiatives, we’re here to help people live their best lives.

- Lead identity and access management, security design, audits, and remediation to ensure compliance with data governance and cybersecurity standards.
- Provide level 3 technical support, lead incident resolution and post-incident reviews, and troubleshoot complex system and network issues.
- Develop and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions, ensuring systems are resilient and aligned to operational requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, documentation, cost optimisation, vendor engagement, mentoring staff, and supporting rostered after-hours operations.
What you’ll bring

- Experience with scripting and automation tools, with relevant certifications (or willingness to obtain), including ITIL and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
