Join genU's dynamic ICT team as an ICT System Administrator!

 

In this highly technical role, you’ll play a key part in implementing and maintaining genU’s ICT standard operating environment, ensuring reliable and secure systems across the organisation.

 

Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and managing solutions for Windows Server, Desktop, and mobile computing, while delivering level 3 support. You’ll collaborate closely with the broader ICT team to resolve complex issues and implement technical solutions that support efficiency and business-wide service delivery.

 

The ICT Branch of genU provides software, hardware, and telecommunications support through a wide range of capabilities, including ICT governance, applications management, infrastructure and technology support, and a robust security framework. As System Administrator, you’ll help ensure these critical systems run seamlessly for all genU staff.
 


About You!


 
The ideal candidate will have strong experience maintaining Windows Server, Desktop, and mobile environments, and the ability to deliver effective technical solutions across the business.

 

You should be proactive in ensuring secure, reliable systems and providing expert level 3 support to keep genU running smoothly.

 

 

Key Responsibilties:

 

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, applications, and software. This includes patching and updating systems, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
  • Managing user accounts and permissions. access they need to perform their tasks.
  • Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues, as well as proactively identifying and resolving problems.
  • Implementing security measures to protect the network and data. This includes implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies to safeguard against unauthorized access or attack.
  • Managing and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as troubleshooting any connectivity issues that may arise.
  • Keeping up with software updates. This includes staying informed about the latest software and security updates and applying them in a timely manner to ensure that systems remain secure and up-to-date.
  • Providing technical support to users and other members of the ICT team. This includes answering questions, resolving problems, and providing guidance to users who are having trouble with their systems or software

 

 

Key Selection Criteria

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a relevant field

 


Essential:

 

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windowsand Linux
  • Experience with networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Familiarity with server hardware and virtualization platforms
  • Experience with Cloud Services and technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You” Certificate of Completion or willingness to obtain

 

 

Desirable: 

 

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting devices 
  • Experience with digital voice communications and systems
  • Experience with SAP software
  • Certification in ITIL 
  • Certification in Microsoft Azure Fu
  • Strong knowledge in scripting
