MatchWorks is looking for a purpose-driven, engaging Indigenous Employment Consultant to assess the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants and assist them to gain sustainable employment by preparing and implementing individualised plans and providing employment skills, Training, placement and support services. 

 

 

What you’ll do
As an Indigenous Employment Consultant in our Workforce Australia team, you’ll:
•    Conduct case management services to assist clients to overcome vocational and non-vocational barriers
•    Mentor and support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants to promote engagement and employability
•    Actively promote clients and MatchWorks employment services to local employers and community stakeholders
•    Deliver our Deadly Yakka program and cultural awareness to employers

 

 

What you’ll bring
•    An understanding of Indigenous protocols and culture, with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the issues and barriers facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants
•    Strong communications skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders
•    Well-organised approach to providing individualised services
•    Proven ability to manage time and workloads effectively to business priorities in a changing environment
•    Highly developed interpersonal skills

 

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

 

 

Bonus points for 
•    Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants
•    Experience in a customer service, recruitment or employment consultancy setting.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
