genU is looking for a values-driven Legal Counsel to step into our legal team at one of Australia’s largest non-for-profit organisations! What you’ll do
As a Legal Counsel in our team you’ll:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including commercial contracts, property agreements, procurement contracts and organisational policies.
- Provide legal research, analysis and support on governance and commercial matters, escalating or seeking supervision from senior counsel as required.
- Assist with major organisational projects, including strategic growth initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory reforms and cross-functional change efforts.
- Advise on disputes, including litigation, alternative dispute resolution and settlement negotiations.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance affairs.
- Manage legal aspects of our nationwide property portfolio, including sales, leases, licenses, retirement villages and development projects
- Work with passionate, knowledgeable and driven colleagues.
- Finish on time working from where you work best.
What you’ll bring
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) / Juris Doctor from a recognised institution.
- Admitted in an Australian jurisdiction with an unrestricted practising certificate (or able to obtain one).
- Enthusiasm for our sector with great interpersonal and relationship-building skills,
- Integrity, sound judgement, strong business acumen and a collaborative mindset that supports our trusted in-house legal function
(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
