We’re on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Senior Disability Day Services Practitioner to support innovative, client-focused programs that build skills and assist individuals to work towards their personal goals. genU Community Participation programs focus on strengthening communication, teamwork, social skills, self-confidence, and mental wellbeing through inclusive and engaging experiences.
In this role, you’ll work both independently and as part of diverse teams to design and deliver accessible, person-centred, site-based and community-based activities that promote social and community participation.
You’ll coordinate supports for people with disability, contribute to the development and implementation of individual health plans, and provide opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
You’ll also support daily operational requirements, maintain accurate activity records and client documentation, and monitor progress while upholding professional integrity and ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of client information.

What you’ll do
As a Senior Disability Day Services Practitioner, you’ll:
- Support program members to actively participate in community activities, develop social skills, achieve personal growth, and build independence, using person-centred and active support approaches.
- Build and maintain respectful, effective relationships with program members, families, carers, and colleagues, communicating clearly and empathetically.
- Assist program members with daily living tasks and provide one-to-one support when required, including support for those with high physical needs or behaviours of concern.
- Plan, deliver, and review individualised programs and activities, including the development and implementation of Person-Centred Plans, health plans, behaviour support plans, and other relevant documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in program files, Carelink, and other reporting systems, including progress notes, activity tracking, incident reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Mentor and coach staff, contribute to team collaboration, and participate in site operations, audits, and targeted projects to ensure quality service delivery and organisational compliance.
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity while undertaking physically active tasks, operating disability care equipment, and representing genU in all interactions.
What you’ll bring
- Certificate IV in Disability.
- First Aid Level II.
- Previous experience in the disability or related sector, with knowledge of client choice, self-directed supports, and achieving individual outcomes.
- Strong leadership skills to ensure high-quality service delivery to both internal and external customers.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including supporting non-verbal program members, flexibility, resilience, and teamwork.
- Effective planning, time management, and organisational skills to achieve quality outcomes and implement person-centred approaches.
- Commitment to customer service and continuous improvement, including developing innovative solutions to increase social inclusion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including data analysis and reporting, and the ability to prepare individualised reports and other written material.
- Ability to work autonomously, collaboratively, and across multiple locations, with awareness of future trends in the disability sector.
(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

- Demonstrated supervisory experience in a client focused environment.
- Skills and experience associated with particular interest type activities i.e. gardening or outdoor activities.
