genU is looking for an experienced a passionate and driven Senior Occupational Therapist to complete specialist assessments, working holistically with clients and families for the purpose of building capacity, improving activities of daily living (ADLs), managing the impact of their disability, and improving a person’s health and well-being.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Occupational Therapist in our Residential & Individual Supports team you’ll:

  • Complete specialist assessments, focused on increasing a participant’s capacity in the areas of daily living, independent living skills and increased community participation.
  • Provide specialist support, supervision and direction to other Occupational Therapists employed with genU, as well as Occupational Graduates and Allied Health Assistants within the team.
  • Develop details Capacity / Skill Building Plans for implementation by other professionals such as Allied Health Assistants and Personal Support Workers.
  • Use a strength’s – based approach when working with clients to establish support plans
  • Monitor and evaluate client progress

 

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy (Degree)
  • Current Occupational Therapy registration with AHPRA
  • A minimum 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate of Completion

 

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

 

Bonus points for

  • Proven experience working with a disability and/or mental health diagnosis,
  • Proven experience working with participants of the NDIS
