We’re looking for a Senior Purchasing Officer to lead a team of Purchasing Officers in implementing a centralised purchasing model that benefits the entire organisation.
You’ll develop and maintain training materials, policies, and systems that make purchasing easy and efficient, while tracking your team's achievements.
With your strong background in purchasing, you’ll drive policy compliance, supplier management, and best practice processes, while offering excellent customer service to our business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Officers that enhances and maintains the Procurement team’s trusted advisor role across the business whilst embedding strong practice and adherence to company policy and governance along the way.
- Develop and maintain a highly valued and efficient purchasing function that supports genU’s clients, staff and operational needs.
- Provide education, guidance, and support to team members to enable an effective, efficient, commercial, and customer-centric purchasing model.
- Develop the team’s training materials and references to be used across the wider organisation.
- Develop the team’s capacity and capabilities through identifying and supporting learning and development opportunities that will drive the team towards a centralised purchasing model.
- Identify areas within the business to streamline work functions and deliver cost savings.
- Collaborate with staff from across the business providing high level advice and guidance to build expertise in purchasing, governance and improved practices and outcomes. Drive end-to-end purchasing functionality to achieve the best outcome for staff across the business.
- Build and develop reports in system that allow for live reporting and assist with day-to-day and strategic decision making across the organisations departments and divisions.
About You!
You're a strategic leader with a strong purchasing background, passionate about streamlining systems, driving change, and delivering value through best-practice procurement.
Essential Requirements:
- An experienced Team Leader with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar or complimentary role
- Experience in an advisory or support position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate all stages of the purchasing lifecycle from planning through to monitoring performance.
- Strong commercial acumen and great attention to detail
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module or willingness to complete.
Qualification:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Procurement/Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or complementary discipline.
Desirable:
- CIPS or PASA membership or qualifications
