Not-for-Profit: Salary package up to $15,900 per annum each FBT year plus further meals and entertainment benefits up to $2,649 per annum

You'll join Activ Pathways, one of our two Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) which operate under the genU umbrella. genU Training and Activ Pathways continue to operate separately, each with its own scope and strengths-but both share a common goal: empowering people through learning and skills development.


We are seeking trainers to deliver CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support, as well as related skill sets and short courses, including the Induction Skill Set.

Delivery options include online (day and evening), face-to-face classroom sessions, and workplace-based training. You do not need to cover all formats. We are happy to tailor delivery based on your location and availability.

 

We are particularly looking for trainers in the following areas:

  • Bunbury
  • Mandurah and Kwinana
  • Joondalup and Clarkson

 

The Sessional Trainer plays a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality training programs aligned with their area of expertise, helping learners develop nationally recognised skills and qualifications. This position is responsible for the full training cycle, including delivery, assessment, administration, and student placement coordination, while ensuring compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework, legislative requirements, and genU’s internal standards. Reporting to the Manager, the trainer contributes to strong learner outcomes, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the training function.

 

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Training Delivery & Learner Support: Facilitate accessible and engaging training across classroom, workplace, and e-learning settings, tailored to individual learning needs through initial reviews.
  • Assessment & Development: Design, deliver, and assess training using compliant tools and contribute to moderation, validation, and ongoing course improvement.
  • Compliance & Quality Standards: Ensure alignment with ASQA Standards, legislative obligations, and government-funded contracts, maintaining audit readiness and supporting quality assurance.
  • Content Creation & Documentation: Develop relevant training materials and assessments, and manage timely completion of all compliance and placement documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Professional Practice: Foster strong learner and industry relationships, maintain high standards of service delivery, and stay current in relevant industry skills and professional practices.

 

Key Accountabilities of Role:

  • Service Excellence: Deliver high-quality training services to existing and potential clients, consistently meeting expectations.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure audit readiness and compliance with all internal policies, ASQA standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Complete all administrative and reporting tasks accurately and on time, upholding quality and compliance standards.
  • Team & Continuous Improvement: Positively contribute to the training team and actively engage in continuous improvement processes.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain high performance in all duties and adhere to the genU Code of Conduct at all times.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor or TAE40110
  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following units:
    • TAELLN411 (or its successor) or TAELLN401A
    • TAEASS502 (or its successor) or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B
    • Or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education

Essential:

  • Industry & Training Expertise: Vocational competence in relevant genU courses, with experience developing, coordinating, and reviewing nationally recognised training and assessments.
  • Content Development & Delivery: Proven ability to create engaging training materials and deliver effective programs across various formats.
  • Regulatory & Quality Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant quality standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Communication & Organisation: High-level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong organisational, problem-solving, and administrative abilities.
  • Tech Proficiency: Confident in using Microsoft Office and managing training administration independently.
