We run exciting activities such as arts and crafts, accessing the community, games and movies. We have an exciting opportunity to join the genU community team as a Disability Day Service Practitioner to support our clients in reaching their full potential while engaging in skill-building activities in and around Rosebud, VIC

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

As a Disability Day Service Practitioner, you will but not limited to; 

  • Support clients in adventure-based learning, empowering them to push beyond their boundaries.  
  • Assist with daily tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal support. 
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests.  
  • Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4. 
  • Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing

 

About You!

 

We are looking for caring and empathetic people. Our ideal Day Services Practitionerwill: 

  • Be an effective communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity and respect to participant's abilities, strengths and circumstances. 
  • Have a strong understanding of supporting clients with varying disabilities and active supports. 
  • Enjoy helping others achieve their goals and personal growth.
  • Be an efficient organiser, able to maintain and update programs, file notes and documents as required.
  • Have experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern.

Requirements 

 

To be eligible, you must have or willing to complete: 

  • Certificate 3 in Disability or equivalent;  
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain); 
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain);
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
